ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST
Cooper Gardner is a multi-disciplinary design practice based in Bermuda with experience in Bermuda and the Caribbean. FedEx Express is looking for a TEMPORARY MANAGER PROPERTIES AND REAL ESTATE with a salary $ 67,000 – $100,000 . In this role you will:
- Selects, trains, develops, and motivates a staff of 7 professionals which are located domestically throughout Canada & administers an annual Canadian Properties operating budget of approximately $200k, and manages the development and spending of regional capital budgets in excess of $15 million and $3 million in lease facility costs
- Directs project/construction management from site selection, leasing, planning, and design through construction and project close-out in Canada. Also approves construction contracts with outside contractors, subcontractors, vendors, etc.
- Manages the properties and facilities support to joint ventures, licenses or other international operating agreements & coordinates and develops effective working relationships with prime matrix departments which regularly interface with IPRE. Also serves as corporate representative in dealings with regional vice-presidents, airport authorities, government officials, and corporate management
- Maintains budgets, schedules, and procedural contract controls to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within approved budgets and control of all Properties Information Systems critical to international operation.
- Performs analysis and interpretation of reported and recorded information and derives constructive action alternatives; provides various status management reports as required as well as investigates, plans, and introduces international airport sites within the Federal Express airport system in Canada.
- Supports the negotiation revision and securing of airport operating agreements, landing rights, aircraft parking plans, lease agreements for all on-airport facilities, including building, aircraft ramp and ground service equipment storage; assists in negotiation of fuel flowage and signatory agreement.
- Performs the strategic and tactical planning for Canadian FedEx facilities/sites including the provision of expertise for Canadian feasibility studies to support long range organization goals. Supports international regions in preparation of Properties’ annual & 5-year plans and budgets.
- Supports FedEx participation on ATA’s airport committees, and Regional Airport Industry Associations such as ADCI and International Airline Airport Affairs Committees. Manages participation in corporate airport programs, i.e. contingency plans etc., and sits as a voting member on standing committees, i.e., fuel committee, supplemental aircraft.
- Maintains relationships with industry organizations which provide data, expertise, and political influence in the areas of real estate, construction management and air cargo development in the international market.
- Numerous projects in the United Arab Emirates, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Montreal
- Various public library, community centre and recreation projects
- Numerous interior design projects for Fortune 500 corporations
- Sustainable design initiatives and research studies
- Aviation projects both domestically and internationally
- A full range of educational projects
All you need is a Bachelor’s degree/equivalent in Architecture, Engineering or Construction; Seven (7) years professional experience encompassing architectural, engineering, and construction disciplines in the development and completion of multimillion dollar projects with emphasis on Project Management/Construction Management and Administration of capital projects; Strong knowledge and experience in the Canadian environment encompassing local government, business practices and customs; and strong basic management, human relations, and communications skills.
Extensive travel will be required within Canada

Qualifications:
